Missing Pieces

I just read this story about a hit-and-run. As I read over the story, I feel as if I am missing something. It claims that this man hit the child on the left side of his vehicle. I would think of this as the drivers side, and others agree with me. If that be the case, there are only two ways the child would have gotten hit… either they were in the median, or that one particular child was in the road itself. I suppose the man could have gone off the side of the road and hit the one child while the other’s dove out of the way. I certainly would not want them to be my friends if they couldn’t pull me out of the way with them or warn me. Now, I am not claiming that this man did not hit the child. Just that the stupidity of the children should be taken into account. Walking in the road or median at night on a major highway is not the smartest thing to do. I really feel as if this story is trying to say “this horrible thoughtless man killed this child” instead of just reporting on the facts.

  1. Hmmm… You know, when I don’t write about anything personal for a while it’s because something big is going on “behind the scenes” or I am making a big decision that I am not ready to blog about.

I see you almost every day and I still want to hear what’s going on with you! I still want to hear your thoughts and point of view on life. Though these random articles are interesting, I want more of you in them. :*

  2. The kid may have been stupid for being in the street but the driver was a bigger idiot for leaving the scene and going home to get his wife then to go to IHOP to eat at 1am. Maybe he didn’t know that it was a human that landed on his hood and fell to the concrete. Maybe he was drinking, maybe he was half asleep…..who knows.

  3. Uhh It says he was crossing the street…. I don’t know why you’re so confused. And I agree with Danielle.

  4. This is why I don’t read the paper and only source of news is the “Onion”. Ditto to Danielle! However to clarify, by ‘them’, I think she meant the blog.

  5. Also, I thought it was funny Mom thought the guy was an idiot for “going home to his wife” and “IHOP to eat”. Hehe. Dittos to the IHOP, but maybe the wife was a hottie! Who knows. Maybe the Onion will do a follow up.

  6. I believe the story was modified, but I am not certain. I still don’t see why the child was out at midnight on Hwy 60 running across the road while a vehicle was coming.
