Hurricane Frances – Phase One

Well, so far, Hurricane Frances hasn’t been much more than wind and rain where we are. It seems to just go around us. For about the past 2 hours, the middle of the eye has been going over us, so its been pretty calm, so I walked around and took some pictures. There was not much excitement however. Below is about the only thing knocked over next to leaves and twigs.

However, there has been a lot of flooding. The rain is picking up again as the rest of the hurricane moves over us, so it may just flood right over Ewell Rd (see the 2nd picture below). The other one is the road across the way. It floods kind of frequently there. You can also see the cool swirly thing going on.

I’ll bring more updates as the storm develops. Maybe I could even set up a webcam if I felt up to it… however, I don’t really. And you wouldn’t see much. Thats why I need to buy the tower across the street and mount a camera on top of it, along with some WiFi broadcasting.
