Truck ‘n’ Bike

2006 Chevy Colorado and 2006 Harley-Davidson Sportster Roadster XL 1200

I didn’t know that the Chevy Colorado comes in a crew cab, but apparently, it does. I didn’t want one before, because I had no weatherproof room to put computers. Unfortunately, this truck has a really small bed, but I can deal with that. I would just get a hang-over frame to put long stuff like ladders and pipe. My tools… well, I’d have to think about that one. But anyway, it comes in the nice pretty orange color. And of course, I want the bike. I’m sick of being stuck in a vehicle. I want to be on the open road with the wind passing by me. So… buy my house so I can buy these vehicles and sell the ones I have.

P.S. – In the future, I will buy this if it comes in a T-top or better yet, convertible version:

Come Back Safely

Well, the USB on my IBM died. So I had to call IBM tech support. Let me tell you, I am glad I bought an IBM. The tech support call was such a wonderful experience. I wasn’t asked to go through any kind of troubleshooting. I was just asked my address and where to send the empty box to. So they sent it here, and I had to ship it off. I also had to remove my hard drive and my miniPCI WiFi card, as the one that was in there wasn’t officialy support on the R40. To make it work, I had to write something to the BIOS via Linux. But anyway, I hope it gets there well and without a hitch, and I get it back in once piece with a brand new motherboard.

Birthday Boy

Well, for my birthday, I did the following:

  • Walked to CVS to get water and laundry detergent
  • Washed and dried clothes
  • Played around on Slashdot
  • Picked out a cake at Wal-Mart
  • Ate dinner at the Dead Dog Salooon (which I recommend)
  • Watched the movie Click (which was a little strange, but worth seeing)
  • Went back to the room, and ate the cake, and tried Lowell’s rum… which is quite strong

Today, I am supposedly going on a roller coaster.

Happy Birthday to Me

Well, it is past midnight, and I am now 25 years old. I’m a quarter of a century old. It’s sad, isn’t it? At least I am out here in Myrtle Beach having fun. I am getting a good tan (hopefully not a burn), getting up late, and doing a lot of swimming for exercise. I don’t know if there is anything planned for me tomorrow, but nothing special I am sure. I really don’t want to do anything special, other than eat my chocolate covered peanut butter balls from Cracker Barrel, and drink my rum from Lowell. However, maybe a particular friend of mine will send me my present that she was supposed to send over a year ago. Maybe not.

Now that I am 25, several things open up for me. I can rent cars, and my car insurace will go down. Thank goodness for that last one.

I wonder how Mieko is doing. She must be so lonely. Sheena has still not sent me pictures of her so I can see how she is doing. And she won’t call me and put Mieko on the phone. But I did get her a present that she should love.

Well, it is late, and I must start my 25th birthday with some sleep.

P.S. I’ve also uploaded some more pictures to the gallery, so check them out.

Please, have a seat.

Well, I do not have any pictures as promised yet. Well, I do, but only like 2. There isn’t too much picture worthy yet. Yesterday was fun. After getting up around 11 a.m. (actually, I was up around 9), we went to the beach. The water is nice (although not clear), and the sand is great (except for this one part that is red hot). However, the life guards really ticked me off. We had set down our stuff, umbrella and all. Well, after about 20 minutes of sitting there soaking up sun and filling up rafts, the lifegaurd comes over and tells us that the umbrellas need to be kept back past a certain point. So we had to move. We go in the water to swim and bring the rafts with us. We were out there for quite a while, probably 30 minutes. Then the lifeguard comes up and blows his whistle at us. Supposedly, our rafts are not approved because they don’t have a rope on them, and are not specially coated. He waited 30 minutes to tell us this, and saw us blow them up earlier. I’d hate to see him in a life saving situation. He’d probably wait a few minutes before making sure he went out there. Other than that, the beach was fine. Two other highlights of my day are benchs at Wal-Mart that were placed throughout the store so you could sit and take a break. So many places need this. And later that night we played Taboo. I found out some interesting things about Jessica, and she thinks I have certain diseases.

We made it… sorta

We finally made it to Myrtle Beach. We (me not included, as I had nothing to do with the directions) got lost for a while. But we are finally here. Of course, I am stuck on dial-up Internet, as I can not find anyone with wireless to mooch off of. I will start posting some pictures tomorrow.

Here we come

Myrtle Beach, here we come! Jessica has about 6 bags. I have 3 if you include food. We have to fit 4 peoples bags in the back of a Toyota something or other. Shouldn’t be a fun ride. Right now I am in Orlando for a stay over so we can get an early start tomorrow. We were supposed to have a barbeque here, but now it seems that is not so. Oh well. Anyway, keep checking back as I will be posting pictures. We will be gone for 8 days (7 nights).

I need to move

I don’t know what is wrong with my area. Below is the coverage for a pager. I’m at the red dot. You are looking at less than a square mile. I’m right out of it… it goes all around me. Maybe my house is putting off too much RF.

Yoga

I just did about 20 minutes of Yoga. I did 4 poses I guess… Mountain pose, Proud Warrior and a couple of other things. Ouch. Definately a good stretch workout. I am a little more flexible than I though though. Jessica would be proud.
